Eric Lefkofsky, CEO and Founder

A significant provider of technology-enabled precision medicine solutions, Tempus was founded and directed by Eric Lefkofsky. He co-founded Lightbank, a venture capital firm dedicated to identifying and finding new and innovative businesses. He is also the co-founder and Chairman.

Eric Lefkofsky explains that Lightbank is a global e-commerce platform. He is also the co-founder of Mediaocean, a leading provider of integrated media procurement technology, Echo Global Logistics (NASDAQ: ECHO), a technology-enabled transportation and logistics outsourcing organization, and InnerWorkings (NASDAQ: INWK), a global provider of managed print and promotional solutions.

The Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Science and Industry, and World Business Chicago all have healthcare expert Eric Lefkofsky as a Trustee. He is also the Chairman of the Steppenwolf Theater Company’s Board of Trustees in Chicago. In addition, Lefkofsky teaches part-time at the University of Chicago as an adjunct professor. After graduating from the University of Michigan, Eric Lefkofsky went on to get a Juris Doctor degree at the University Of Michigan Law School.

Following difficulties in canceling his cell phone contract, The Point was created during this period—an Internet-based tool aimed to mobilize grassroots action for a specific cause (such as boycotting a product, paying an education, or supporting a charitable project). (Eric Lefkofsky reasoned that they could get their cellular service provider to lower their rates if enough customers band together.) As a result of the Point’s collaboration platform, anyone may invest in a cause while simultaneously making a monetary donation to the cause; however, they would not be charged until the predetermined financial or membership target had been met.
