Yves Mirabaud Senior Managing Partner At Mirabaud

According to Yves Mirabaud, the financial results of Mirabaud SCA dropped sharply in 2020 compared to 2018 and 2019. This was as a result of the covid-19 pandemic.

However, the year was listed among the best five in the bank’s 200-year history.

Mirabaud Yves believes that his peers’ hedging strategy was an excellent move to benefit from the trading boom. His bank didn’t receive any complaints from clients since the performance was favorable. And their portfolios were less volatile.

During the first six months of 2020, the Mirabaud Group had two other developments: new wealthy clients searching for haven in Switzerland invested with them. And in asset management, there were strong outflows due to the repositioning of investors.

Covid-19 made Mirabaud opt for direct savings in entertainment, travel, and sponsoring events. The company won new private bankers who helped strengthen their business. It also built a staff for corporate finance in Paris to help private banking on advisory roles.

Mirabaud Group has no plan to hire new corporate financiers since the unit is still young. The company wants to be active in the real estate equity fund this year. They have even collected $1 billion, and there are plans to further their transactions in the U.S.

This year the company is planning on hiring about 20 new client advisers to reinforce local offices in Europe, America, Switzerland, the Middle East, and Latin. They are not preparing to compete for big teams.

Yves Mirabaud has no plans of expanding his investment geographically. They want to concentrate their effort on the new investments in Latin America and the Middle East. Refer to this article to learn more.

This year the company wants to concentrate on investment in technology. They evaluate new banking systems (Avaloq and Temenos) that they have developed in the last three decades.

Yves has a bachelor’s degree in international relations. Yves Mirabaud acquired his banking experience in Zurich, Boston, New York, and Geneva. He is currently the board chairman of Cie and Mirabaud.
